As a dementia caregiver, there are going to be rough weeks….and then there are going to be rougher weeks! It’s too easy to become depressed and overwhelmed. It happens to us all. It’s normal to have those feelings, and you should let them out. But don’t stay in that dark place for too long!
After you’ve vented your emotions, look for the bright side of the situation. Find something to be grateful for or proud of. Maybe even make a joke about it. Maybe even congratulate yourself using humor. “Hey, it was rough. But I don’t need bail money! So I’m starting out next week ahead of the game.”
